Hi all! I’m back today with a very big life update – Darren and I are moving!

I feel like this is something I’ve been hinting at for a while and when our lease renewal finally arrived, we made the decision not to re-sign. Ultimately, we just couldn’t see paying more for an apartment that we’ve already outgrown.

While I’m sure I’ll make a follow-up post soon with more details on the where, the when seems to be the most pressing thing right now, we’re planning to be all packed up and on the road before Christmas – I know, that’s like really soon! I’ve got boxes stacked in the living room and we’ve slowly been editing out things we won’t be bringing with us. We’ve told our families and they’ve already started planning their first trips to visit.

The number one response we’ve gotten is that we’ll need to change our Instagram handles and while QueenCityDogMom and QueenCityDogDad don’t sound too bad, I feel confident that HudsonValleyDogMom isn’t so much about a location and more about a lifestyle, not to mention we’ll be back to visit a lot since my mom, brother, and sister-in-law are staying put…for now!

I also wanted to mention that I’m selling quite a few things on Depop, so if you’ve ever wanted to shop my closest, literally or figuratively, now is a good time!

I’m so excited for this fresh start, and while I’ll miss me and Darren’s first home together, I’m really hopeful that this move helps us find our forever home. I’ve also felt a bit in a rut ever since my dad died and am excited that a new place might bring some renewed happiness, I can’t wait to find a routine, to take Percy to a swim class I found online, and to appreciate some sunnier days – literally, can’t wait to take you along for the ride!
