Vacation Essentials

Hi everyone! I just finished packing for vacation and thought I’d share with you a few vacation essentials, since I’ve tried a few new products recently and fallen back in love with a few old ones too. Generally, whenever my skin gets kissed by the sun I go sans foundation, since my freckles start to stand out and I hate to cover them. Lately, I’ve been applying a dab of foundation to a beauty blender and just going over my under eye with a bit of concealer, and applying the smallest bit of a sheer foundation on my chin and forehead. I then bronze up my cheeks, and just do eyebrows, mascara, and gloss! Read on to find a few vacation essentials and beauty favorites that I’ve been using in my new updated minimal makeup routine!

The Best Vacation Lip Gloss And It Smells Like Vacation Too

I tried out this Kopari coconut oil lip glossy at the recommendation of Jaclyn Hill in one of her latest videos and I am SO GLAD that I did! I love the way this feels on my lips, not to mention I am obsessed with all things coconut, especially come summertime. What I absolutely love about this is that it is made of coconut oil, so it doesn’t feel like a traditional lip gloss, it isn’t sticky, but instead satiny and gives the perfect amount of moisture, without looking too wet. Not to mention, it smells incredible! I also bought these Sephora branded watermelon after-sun masks, they’re supposed to decrease redness after a day in the sun, and honestly I feel just as passionately about watermelon flavored stuff as I do coconut, so I already know I’ll love it (I bought enough of them so Darren can try them too, although I don’t think he ever would)! I just like the idea of throwing one on before we get ready for dinner and looking a little less red for an evening out!

My Search For Travel Sized Bath & Body Led Me To These Ulta Branded Bath Smoothies

Today, I frantically ran to Target and Ulta in a search for minis, realizing that I had already overpacked from a clothes/shoes perspective and there was no chance I was getting a full sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in my suitcase. I found these at Ulta, and I literally can’t wait to come home and buy the full-sized versions to stock in my shower. These smell amazing and are so perfect for, not only, vacation, but summer in general! The pineapple is my favorite, it literally smells like Pineapple&Malibu and I’m so obsessed with it! I also bought the grapefruit because it smelled so juicy and energizing; I felt more awake just sniffing it! I passed on the watermelon, even though that was the first one I reached for, because it wasn’t as strongly scented as these two – I highly recommend giving these a sniff next time you’re in an Ulta! Oh also, these travel sizes were only $4!

Milk_Shake Hair Care, Who Doesn’t Love A Milkshake?

I’ve been on a mission of self-discovery when it comes to hair care recently. When I was younger I used nothing to style my hair, just washed it with your ordinary shampoo and conditioner, but my hairdresser has made me a believer in actually buying stuff that is good for your hair, and I took her recommendation when it came to this range of hair care products. Last time I got my hair cut, my hairdresser used all Milk_Shake products for styling; this included a leave-in conditioner, a mousse, and an oil, and they all smelt AMAZING. I thought a leave-in conditioner was perfect to take on vacation, plus Amazon sold it in a mini, and so I knew I had to have it!

This $6.69 Mascara Beats All The $30 Ones I’ve Tried

I am obsessed with the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara; it literally puts to shame any high-end mascara I’ve ever tried. Whether you’re comparing it to Too Faced Better Than Sex, Benefit They’re Real, or literally any other one carried in a Sephora – just stop right there! I’m never spending more than $7 on mascara ever again, because this is officially my all time favorite. This mascara not only makes my lashes look elongated but seems to also do the job of a lash curler simultaneously lifting, separating, and whisp-ing my lashes so that it literally looks like I’ve had them lifted and tinted. I can’t say enough good things about this one, and I’ll never go back to the high-end mascara aisle again!

That’s all for now, as I still have a few last minute things to do before we set sail, can’t wait to share photos with you from Bermuda!
