Travel Goals For The Next Year – Savannah & Charleston

If I’ve learned anything in my 20’s, it’s that travel is good for the soul and since being back from Bermuda, I’ve already asked Darren a hundred times, “Can we take another vacation, like tomorrow?” Darren and I have really loved beach vacations, I should mention that he’s the real reason I’ve started traveling. Before Darren, I would have been really nervous to go to new places, but he always challenges me and encourages me to try new things; we’ve been to the Bahamas and Bermuda, Miami and Newport, but this year we’re keeping it a little more laid back, in the hopes that we maybe find a place we would want to settle down, eventually (plz don’t ask me when we’re getting married). Although we love a good beach vacation – sun, sand, and frozen drinks, we’re thinking that this year we’ll go somewhere with a little history, good food, pretty sunsets, and some Insta-worthy architecture. Here are our travel goals for this year!

Charleston, South Carolina

I’ve seen so many pictures of Charleston, South Carolina on my Instagram feed! That’s really where it all started, from adorable pictures of Rainbow Row to all the pastel door OOTD’s, I have literally fallen in love with a place through pictures. I already have a list in my phone of all the places I want to see in Charleston. There’s the American Theater, where Noah and Allie had their first date, Audobon Swamp Garden, which is a romantic spot on the water, with idyllic looking bridges and flowers, and of course I’ve pinned a few food spots too, like Butcher and Bee for a morning brunch, who I’ve been following on Instagram. The Mills House Hotel looks pastel pink and idyllic and I think we’ll plan to stay there!

And of course we’ll grab some sweets from the sugar sweet Sugar bakeshop! Look at those bicycles…swoon!

Not to mention we’ll grab some rosé and look for cute flower walls in the shopping district!

Of course there will be a blog post when we go, right now we’re thinking Spring of 2019, maybe May, as the weather is absolutely gorgeous, although I would love to see the Christmas decorations there – imagine all those pastel doors with Christmas wreaths! If you’ve ever been, please leave suggestions down below!!!

Savannah, Georgia

The other place that I’ve fallen in love with in pictures is Savannah, Georgia. If you’ve ever looked at Savannah on Pinterest, then you know that the greenery is beautiful and that it’s a place filled with Southern charm and roads lined with hundred year-old trees and lots of photo opportunities. The places Darren and I will definitely visit include The Olde Pink House, a restaurant set in a Southern mansion painted pastel pink! I mean come on, just look at it.

Thinking about all the Instagrams like, here comes a pink theme!

We’ll also be sure to visit Leopold’s, a vintage inspired ice cream parlor that looks very The Notebook-esque, and Wormsloe Historic Site, and we’ll definitely get a photo there in front of Oak Avenue! Again, I feel a blog post coming in the near future – any recommendations would be appreciated here too!

Okay, I do also have kind of a stretch travel goal too! My absolute dream vacation right now is Greece, and I don’t think it’ll happen in the next year, but definitely in the next few years! I’ve been in love with the idea of Greece for as long as I can remember, from the beautiful white buildings and blue roofs to the crystal clear waters, I can’t imagine a better vacation spot – now all I have to do is save up!
