‘Twas 72 hours before Christmas, when all through the apartment, not a creature was stirring, except for me and my camera and presents. The wrapping paper was flung in front of the Netflix fireplace without care, a last minute Christmas gift guide to share – on camera flashes, on glitter, when what to my wondering eyes did appear, but the most last minute blog post, brought to you here!
First up – this year Darren and I decided to keep the presents at a minimum, considering we’ve bought each other all sorts of thoughtful things in the last few weeks – dishes, utensils, towels – the joys of moving in! I’m still waiting on a few of his gifts to arrive, including a BBQ spice set and some beard oil, but I did order this lovely candle, which came with a repeat of last year’s Le Labo travel set. I mentioned it last year, but Darren and I stayed in a hotel in Miami that we absolutely loved a few summers back and this candle and these toiletries are the same scent the hotel uses – nothing like a smell to take you back to a simpler moment in time, one where we were sunburnt and eating guacamole by the pool with drinks in coconuts in hand. I love this candle, the scent is black tea with notes of citrus, smoke, chocolate, and pepper. It’s masculine, while still feeling cozy and warm and I can’t wait to burn it curled up on the couch in Darren’s arms – I ordered it on Black Friday, where it was discounted, but also came with the the toiletries I bought Darren last year – which was a HUGE savings!

I also wanted to mention a few gifts that I didn’t end up buying, but I thought deserved an honorable mention. I really wanted to buy Darren these YETI mugs, I thought they’d be great for our coffee if we wanted to take a morning walk, but think I’ll save them for when we get a puppy, as we haven’t taken any walks since we’ve moved in. I also got this Barefoot dreams blanket for us, but we’re already using it – I just couldn’t save it for Christmas!
Next up, a special gift for a special blogger friend – I wanted to pick up something nice for my friend Alex, as she’s been so understanding – my life is busy and hectic and she’s there for me, even if I just need to vent. Also shopping for her feels a bit like shopping for myself, which makes gift giving even more fun. Alex is really into astrology, so I picked up this SLIP sleep mask with her sign, I think it makes a really special gift and is on a 30% off sale right now – so if you’re still Christmas shopping, or know someone with a birthday coming up – I think it’s a great present!
I also got her this Homesick candle – she took a solo trip to San Francisco a few years ago and it seems like it really meant a lot to her, so what better reminder than a coffee, chocolate candle with notes of sea waves and sea moss?!

Remember how I said that shopping for her is a bit like shopping for myself, well the notebook on the left actually is for ME! I bought one of the Rachel Hollis Start Today journals while I was doing my Christmas shopping and think it would make an amazing gift for someone, not just for Christmas, but great for starting a new year – it looks like the one I bought is out of stock, but I also LOVE this marble one!
I also had a lot of fun shopping for my brother’s girlfriend this year, I got her this adorable pom-pom hat from JCrew – which was $15 – still on sale and guaranteed by Christmas if you order tonight!
Then, I got her something a little sentimental, I know that she really adored my dad, and I want her to know that we know she lost someone in November too, when I saw this Harry Potter Alex and Ani bracelet – I knew that it was the perfect way for her to carry around a piece of his memory; it says “The ones that love us never really leave us.” Alex and Ani is also offering expedited shipping in time for Christmas, and I love all of their Harry Potter collection.

I also got Chelsea this blanket from Anthropologie, me and Darren have one too – it is so soft and heavy and wonderful, and I picked up one of these throws at Target.
I also wanted to give an honorable mention to Abercrombie and Fitch’s holiday sweaters, I ended up doing Christmas pajamas for the whole family instead of Christmas sweaters, but I did order myself this sweater in grey and this red one!
While I’m keeping my mom’s big gift a top secret surprise, I did want to get her a little self care kit, and got her a Goop bedtime bath soak, a mulling spice set, and some Argan oil that she swears by!

Well, that’s it for now, I know it was last minute, but it didn’t feel right to let Christmas pass without a gift guide – Christmas feels much less Christmas-y without my dad, but nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit quite like a holiday themed product photo shoot, if you’re looking for more last minute gift inspiration…
Here’s my 2017 Christmas gift guide!
And here’s last year’s stocking ideas, gifts for her, gifts for him, and gifts for mom!
