Spring is here! Which, of course, means new spring-themed beauty favorites. Warmer days mean dewy skin, highlighted cheeks, winged eyeliner, and subtle pinks and peachy tones for a natural glow-from-within makeup look. Remember when I said I was on a makeup no-buy?! Me either! Read on for my March favorites!
My first spring splurge was this beautiful Bobbi Brown highlighter, which is limited edition, which means that I had a hard time finding it to begin with (I saw beauty guru Zoella talk about it on her YouTube channel)! I did something I don’t normally do – I ordered a makeup product, and not from Sephora! I ordered this highlight online from Nordstrom, and I am actually so glad I did! Nordstrom is always free shipping and returns, but also their free samples were a bit nicer than Sephora’s normal offerings! I got to try a La Mer cream, a Charlotte Tilbury priming highlighter, and a Jo Malone mini perfume, which I was happy with! This highlight is so beautiful and it’s on sale! It is buttery, luminous, and makes the skin look fresh, hydrated, and so healthy! As someone with incredibly pale skin, most highlights end up looking a bit heavy or sometimes too gold on my skin, and this looks so natural – I love it!
Let’s talk eyebrows. There was a moment in my early makeup wearing life that I said I would never fuss with my eyebrows, because it just seemed so unnecessary, and of course I started to fuss with them and tried all of the Anastasia brow products and have never been totally pleased with the look I’ve been able to achieve. I am naturally blonde and most brow products tend to be darker than my hair, but also seem heavy on my pale skin. But then, I tried this Aqua Brow by Make Up Forever and I am obsessed (disclaimer I did have to exchange it as the first one was defective). This is the most natural brow product I have ever owned and it is so easy to use! It is a watery substance, which I like, as it makes it really easy to manipulate, control and shape, unlike the brow gels or pomades I’ve tried. I use a flat angled brush and it really is the best blonde brow product ever!
Lastly, is this gorgeous Marc Jacobs lip product! This is in the color Sonic Truth and it is so beautiful and almost a my-lips-but-better color. I normally wear a liquid lip, but my lips have been so dry lately and thought something with a more creamy consistency might be a bit more forgiving, and I love it. This doesn’t budge, but does offer a very hydrated feel, and leaves my lips feeling smooth and creamy throughout the day!
If you needed an excuse to order some new makeup, here it is! Happy shopping!
