The Apartment Edit – Our Bedroom

Hi everyone – popping on the blog today to share all the details on our mid-century modern bedroom! While our living room and dining room were the first rooms to come together, having a bit of extra time at home and needing a home office has motivated me to finally put the finishing touches on our bedroom and I’m so happy to say that it’s finally coming together.

My favorite spot in the bedroom is this Instagrammable corner, I love the way the sun comes in and the way the light brings out different tones in the wood on this dresser – we were between two dressers for the longest time and we made an impulse decision to go for this Mid-Century 6-Drawer Dresser, and I’m so glad we did because I absolutely love it. I especially love it paired with this $59 Target mirror.

Once we had the dresser and the mirror, I picked up some vases from Anthropologie, paired those with some eucalyptus from Adam’s and then added a few of my prized possessions – a framed photo of me and my dad and a brass cat that I’ve had since I was a kid – one that he brought me home from Korea when he was stationed there.

Speaking of my dad, he inspired the print above our bed. My dad loved Elton John and now, I do too. When I saw this I knew it was the finishing touch this wall was missing. We ordered the 30 x 40 and did a matte black frame and I think it’s perfect, I smile every time I see it.

We got a really good deal on our bed and while I wish it was a little taller, I do really like the headboard and overall style. We splurged on some Brooklinen sheets and did a velvet comforter from Pottery Barn. I’ve already told you how much I love these gold pillow covers from H&M Home and they’re sooo reasonably priced!

Our nightstand is from West Elm and was one of our first purchases for the apartment, I love the marble top and that I can store my books underneath!

The newest addition to our bedroom is my little work from home corner. I’ll be working from home until at least 2021 and needed to commit to making a more permanent set-up, so I got this desk and this chair. This desk works perfectly for the space and I love that it offers some vertical interest too!

Decorating our apartment has definitely been a highlight for me this year, I really love when a room comes together and making our home as cozy and “us” as possible!
