The Best 6-Ingredient Apple Crisp Recipe

Nothing says bliss quite like the smell of apples and cinnamon baking at 350 degrees in the oven, combined with butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, and of course love. I thought today was the perfect day to share my Mom’s apple crisp recipe, while I usually only bake this in the fall – these rainy, cold spring days inspired me to make my comfort dessert. This recipe is great for dessert, great leftover for breakfast, and honestly best microwaved for thirty seconds and topped with a pile of Holy Cow ice cream, but any good vanilla will do – happy baking!

First things first, you’ll want to preheat your over to 350 degrees; then you’ll mix together 1 cup flour, 1 cup rolled oats, 1 cup lightly-packed brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. You’ll want to have a stick of butter at room temp, which you’ll cut into pieces and throw into the mix – you’ll incorporate the butter using pinching motions, until you get a nice crumble, then set aside!

Next up, prep, peel and slice your apples – any will do! You’ll want to peel and cut about 4 cups worth, cut them into bite sized pieces, put some cinnamon and sugar on the apples to taste. Then, butter a 9×13 pan and pour the apples in first, then top with your crumble.

Bake for 40-45 minutes and eat warm with ice cream – remember, desserts are always best leftover for breakfast the next day!
